Baule Pair, 19th Century
Sakasou, Ivory Coast
Wood, trade beads
12 x 2.5 inches (each)

Description
This beautiful pair of Baule figures are most likely a set of twins. Both figures have the same scarification marks and hairstyles. They have an all over crusty patina from ceremonial libations with palm oil and other organic matter.
